Svetlana Shifrin-Douglas, MD completed her Fellowship in Endocrinology and Metabolism at Penn State, Milton S. Hershey Medical Center in Hershey, PA. She subsequently joined the faculty at Hershey Medical Center in 2005 as an Assistant Professor in Endocrinology and Metabolism. During her time in academia, Dr. Shifrin-Douglas not only trained the next generation of Endocrinologists and attended to her own busy endocrinology practice, she also conducted multiple clinical trials, ultimately publishing several important articles in some of the most prestigious journals in the field.
In 2012, Dr. Shifrin-Douglas opened a private practice in Long Branch, NJ where she brought academic endocrinology into suburban New Jersey. During her years in solo-practice, Dr. Shifrin-Douglas earned a reputation as a top thyroidologist in the region.
Dr. Shifrin-Douglas is board-certified in Endocrinology and Metabolism. Her areas of interest include thyroid diseases, bone diseases, polycystic ovary disease, endocrine cancers and tumors (thyroid cancers, pituitary and adrenal tumors), abnormalities of water metabolism, hirsuitism, obesity, and weight control problems.
